I saw a newly renovated motel with eight rooms facing the main road.
Each had an identical brick room, the size of a built-in closet. They all had a locking door and were empty except for a chair.
Were they built so people could have a fight with their partner, go to their contemplation capsule, and close the door?
Sitting, possibly vaping as they stared across a main road at a plain-looking factory, completely visible to passers-by? It was the first time I'd seen such a bleak activity given architectural focus. Sad, yet open.
